Power steering vent tube (where to get one)

I been hearing alot about loose Power steering fluid caps and this solves the problem, where can I get one?

Being cheap isn't for everyone, but it you are, here's a method that works fine. Bring your PS cap into the auto parts store and get a rubber hose that fits over the ******. Buy about a foot's worth. Stick the end in the hole in the plastic inner fender well. The cap won't get lost because it can't untwist against the rubber hose, which is wedged in the fender well hole. Not car show material, but effective.

OK, should be a hose clamp. But when I did it, that's what I had and haven't changed it since.

Power steering fluid can be nasty stuff. Have you seen any evidence of deterioration of your rubber hose?

Yup. Some elastomers get very soft. Don't use coolant overflow rubber hose (very thin walled stuff.) Rubber hose with braided nylon (fuel line) should be fine.

Tom, I'd be worried about 2 things

1. The HiPo Engineering hose is made from Viton rubber at something like $12 per foot. Compatible with power steering fluid which will deteriorate over the counter rubber hoses.
2. Stuffing the hose into a hole tight enough to stop the hose (and cap) from turning would mean that it would pinch the hose. Venting of the reservoir is extremely important.
