I'm starthing to have problems depressing the clucth pedal on my 1995 RT. To get the starter to engage, I have to push (Finesse!) the pedal to the right to get past what feels like a sticking point. Is there some sort of bushing/linkage replacement kit available, or just a replacement kit for the hydraulic portion. There is no leakage of hydraulic fluid inside, or outside of the firewall. The clutch reservoir is full of fluid as well, which leads me to believe it's some kind of bushing or linkage problem. The transmission was replaced just over 12k miles ago, at which time I had a new stock clutch & pressure plate put in as well......Thank god it was still covered under the extended warranty. If anybody else has had this problem, I'd sure appreciate hearing what the fix was for you. Finally, I've looked at the Parts Rack online catalog, but didn't find anything. I've ordered several things from you Jon B.....so if you happen to read this post and have something to fix this, please let me know.

Thanks

Steve J.

To check the clutch pedal position switch, you can jump the switch with a short wire. Hanging from the clutch rod is a green plug with yellow wires. Disconnect the plug and jump from one side of the harness plug to the other. CAUTION it will now start in any gear!!

The clutch pedal has a bushing at the pivot and also to connect the clutch rod. Go to http://www.mopar.com/viper.html and download the 92-96 parts book. Look at page 27 to see the pivot bushing and on page 31 to see the clutch rod bushing(part #3 in the diagram.)

Hint: to remove the old clutch rod bushing, don't force the clutch rod off the clutch pedal pin. Use a small screwdriver and pull the plastic "cage" directly away from the clutch pedal. The plastic piece has some one-way teeth that let you snap it on, but you can't push it off, you have to pull it off.

bushing has crapped out. need a new one. I think a couple guys on here have made new ones out of aluminum to replace the factory plastic one. Try search feature.

I tried that with the clutch pedal pushing. Pulled out the assembly and it was FINE! Somehow, the clutch pedal got a little bent (???) and I just took a dremel tool and clearanced the bracket. My wife appreciates this mod a lot more than I do. She was always afraid of getting stuck.

I have a 95 and have the same problem. I have had my 95 for 2 years and replaced those damn bushings 3 times and I need to do them again.
