Re: Pushrod legnth with T&D\'s

Hey Jason,
It depends on the car and each hole should be checked at zero lash. Most will use a 7.500" up to a 7.700". I got the Trickflow pushrods from Summitracing.com ($120 shipped) and ended up using the 7.650" pushrod in all holes. Most will install on a cold engine(who likes to work on a hot one  ), so after the engine gets warmed up, they should be checked and adjusted if necessary.

It is simple, you must measure - there is no guarantee unless you do so.

I found a set and the owner said it come off a 97 and the pushrods was 6.750. That just sounded short to me.

Did they make differnet sets of T&D's? How could I tell them apart?

I wish you the best, but, why is it so hard to measure for the length, that is the only correct method. You cannot make the wrong size rod work, you can end up dropping a rod and damaging the engine. You can also restrict the oil flow if you go out of range on the T&D's to offset a incorrect length.

The reason for measuring is the the difference in deck height, head tolerances. This is why there are different length rods from the factory, they are denoted by a color coding.
