I noticed that all racing vipers either have their naca duct closed (as in Archer's viper on Saturday) or completely eliminated as on the ORECA vipers in the past. So,my question is why don't they use it and what type of air box/system do they use that's better than we have?

Thanks.

To keep the ducks out........

Viper Magazine, Sept. 1999 has an article on the NACA DUCT.

Archers Viper does not run a V-10 (due to rules). I'd guess he is using Nascar style cowl induction based on the hood
