Ran an 11.980 at 118.65 at Houston Raceway Friday in my bone stock ACR with stock Michelin Pilots. Not as good as my previous trip to the track which was 11.852 at 119.61. I launched with lots of rpms and had a bad 60' (Proved once again that bogging is better). I did get one heck of an r/t as can be seen in the video. Check out the comparions below.....

Dec 8th 11.980 run.....

R/T: .527
60': 2.055
330: 5.235
1/8: 7.854
MPH: 94.64
1000: 10.093
1/4: 11.980
MPH: 118.65
11.980 Video (2.1 meg)

Nov 26th 11.852 run.....

R/T: .687
60': 1.898
330: 5.142
1/8: 7.749
MPH: 95.30
1000: 9.977
1/4: 11.852
MPH: 119.61
11.852 Video (2.1 meg)

Florida,
Great run and video. What rpm did you pop the clutch? What were your rpm shift points? Are those stock street tires?

Hey JonB-Luckily I got away with it. Even though during tech inspection he said "if you run in the 11s you are out of here". He didn't sound like he was going to budge this time. I guess word never got back to him.

Hey Impetuous-I'm shifting at 6000. I dumped the clutch early on the 11.852 run and launched about 1200-1500. On the 11.980 run I ran out the clutch pretty long with lots of rpms. I feel the low revs are better and bogging has always turn 1.8 and 1.9 60'. Everytime I try and launch more aggrestively with more rpms I end up with a 2.0 or worse 60'. Those are stock Michelin Pilots with 4500 miles on them.

Hey Check-I was running 34lbs up front and 23lbs in the back..

Hey Jeff -

Great times! You could tell that your 11.85 launch was better. Having made numerous runs down our washboard in Kansas City, you could always tell when you got a decent launch: It would seem to bog down JUST a hair and then get a little chirp out of the tires as it launched. Too much bog and you were slow, too little and you would light up the tires. It's a fine thing indeed!

BTW, I would bet that you can beat that 11.85. While the launch was superb, it sounded like you hit fourth gear just a smidge early. Either way, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for helping me with my Viper fix. With mine still at Woodhouse, I really, really needed those videos. What a rush!!

Jeff. Great website! I love the video's. Did that guy in the autocross that got hit by the vette die? The guy who did a spin in the hwy, I think got lucky he or she didn't get hit by another car or hit the crowd. Not so smart..but great footage!
