I'm looking at getting some new sounds this year and i know the fronts are 6 1/2's but what size are the rears? What size do most of you go with for replacement speakers?

Thanks!

The rear speakers are subs. JL Audio makes a 6.5" sub that plugs right in. That's what most people use.

Here is a link to my install when I had a GTS

I see you mounted those speakers in a new location, im looking for the stock size for the rear speakers that are back there :) something for a direct replacement.

Those speakers are in the stock location. He just has the carpet-set removed for installation of the sound deadening material. The stock speaker grills are attached to the carpet-set and are re-used.

I just did this upgrade utilizing these same JL subs (sans accoustic liner). The improvement over stock is considerable...

The stock rear speakers are not subs. They are full range. If you replace them with subs it will sound much better.

This will be a dumb question but how do you remove the old speakers? I am buying the JL's tomorrow and went to take the factory speakers out tonight and I cant get the screws out. They are definately not phillips head. I tried a hex driver with no luck and I tried a square head with no luck. They almost look like rivets but it is so hard to tell. Somebody help me PLEASE!
