Redtop Clearance Issue Solved

If this has been posted already, I apologize. I just put a new Redtop in my 97. It seems about half the people that post have clearance issues with the redtop. I installed the 78 series, it has side terminals only, therefore, the usual clearance issue with the top post is no longer a problem.

A separate, but associated issue was the positive cable. I could never fully tighten it. If i applied too much torque

, it would spin in the battery terminal. I pulled the bolt/terminal off of the cable. The bolt has to be short since the terminal on the battery is shallow, however, this bolt actually had two less threads (5 versus 3) than the negative side. I replaced with a new (NAPA) bolt and it works fine.
