Rev limiter proper operation

I'm hitting mine way too often with the Paxton and 355's. That's why I just installed a shift light to avoid this. I agree that the power curve flattens about 5,500 so why push it higher. I much prefer the bounce type rather than the total power cut that the gen 3's have.

Check out the very interesting thread below. According to this analysis the optimal shift points are right at red line (for stock gearing gen 3). This is for maximum acceleration of the vehicle, not just maximum HP or torque of the engine.

How did you come to that conclusion based on the chart that was mathamatically calculated and not based on a real car's performance? His calculations don't take any one of a hundred variables into account.
