I just removed my center console and removed my shifter knob and shifter boot. Below that is a rubber boot that is riveted into the center console frame with 8 rivets. Mine is trashed...

Now i know where all my source of heat is coming from. Since this is a riveted part, how do i go about getting it replaced? Is there a rubber boot kit of some kind that i can replace it with. My concern is how to get these rivets out?

Has anyone else ever had to replace one?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi MJBComp,
Yes that boot is available. Part #4848038 MSRP $61.85
When you drill out the rivets have someone hold a vacum cleaner nozzel by the drill bit to catch the chips! Then just rerivet the boot back.
Hope this helped?
