Security / Recovery Device

I was notified today by my insurer that they want more detail on the security system in my '00 GTS. The fax indicates they want proof of a Tracking/Recovery System such as: Forcetracker, OnStar, Visteon Rescue, Alpine Electronics Mobile Mayday, Lojack, OnGuard/ATX, VEMS or Toyo Guard. Does the Viper come with such a device? If so how would I get verification? If no, does anyone have any info on these regarding effectiveness, ease of installation, and cost? I know about OnStar (GM) and Visteon (Ford). Thanks as always

Tracking devices, for the most part, are aftermarket, though there are a few exceptions, the Viper not being one of them. With that said, the device that I use is Lo-Jack. The cost varies depending on location and what setup you want installed. Mine was around 600.00. You can call Lo-Jack directly, but I believe that they are only installed through dealerships, so call a Dodge dealership near you. Most tracking device companies, much like digital telephone companies, do not cover all areas within and outside of the U.S. There are holes.
