Imagine how much even better the Viper would have done if it were a couple hundred pounds lighter ...

Lap times were tied even with the Z06, and the Viper scored better in several handling areas in the summary ... the Z06 did better in acceleration. The writer said he would choose the Viper over the others for track days.

Times have changed. In the old days (1997-1999) the Viper would smoke the competition in the hard numbers, and the writers subjectively would always pick some other (slower) car.

Kind of nice to see what many of us have seen at Viper Days and other events. The Viper is flat out competent on the track, just not as easy to drive fast as some other machines, but with Scotty B. White and Cindi Lux whipping up on the drivers on the West Coast, the throngs of Vette drivers are whining again.

Of course, the fact that both of them are very talented drivers , has alot to do with it too!
