Inline Air compressor filter canister, Real easy setup, No cutting of lines or any real mods just connect your hose that goes to your airbox to the inlet of the canister and then out back to the airbox, these come in all sizes $10.00 - $20.00, Buy it at sears or anyplace like Home depot etc where they sell air tools, works great for me:

Here is mine. It's a Jeg's unit and I mounted it in place of the washer fluid bottle to keep it away from the cabin air intake.

They are oil catch cans to catch the oil that would normally be circulated back to the air intake from the valve covers from blowby gas pressure or due to g forces created under braking. Mainly a concern for those running boost.

GenII's do come with a radiator overflow tank stock.

The cans that come in pairs as shown above are not stock however.

Excuse me while I finish chokin on the corndog. I knew it was a stupid question but had to ask. So in otherwords a high tech twist on the old PCV valve.

Them's some supercharged cans above, I'll bet there's a tattoo under there that says inflate to 35 psi!

Dude -

It's a frikkin' catch can. There isn't a "best" or "worst". The top one is the one I use, but the other will work just fine. The Moroso is a little bit big, so make sure you have a place to put it. Other than this, any of them will work fine.

just installed my catch can. soon as i started the car up the breather started to smoke very lightly out of the can and as i gave it revs it smoked even more. this normal? if this is normal is that the reason maybe my car detonated because its sucking up oil and smoke from the intake?

I have never witnessed any smoke from my can, but that does not mean it doesn't happen. The filter is there to vent. Did you check for blow-by? Compression or leakdown?

Sucking oil back into the intake can cause detonation, and was probably contributing to your detonation. However, your dyno numbers are abnormally high for your setup, especially on a mustang dyno. This makes me think your timing was advanced too much causing the detonation. You typically see 680 to 700rwhp with your setup. What were your numbers once your car was retuned without the detonation?
