Side Exhaust Heat Shielding

Ok i have a gen 3 and am going to replace the what apppears to be a fiber glass mesh wrap heat shelding for the exhaust inside the side sills.

What is this stuff and where do i get the best quality kind? need about 4'x1' piece per side.

Call JonB at Partsrack. He most likely will be able to tell you what it is and what to replace it with. No one has more knowledge on Vipers than JonB.

if you want to cool car down, and you have stock exhaust - IMHO better results will give you cutting off xpipe and replacing stock mufflers. Any kit around 1000$ (corsa borla) will do better job than new heat shields.

no they are painting my sil and they fiberglass mesh stuff inside was falling appart. Talked to JohnB and he told me what to do so that i didnt have to pay the 900 viper tax for 80 insulation.

Can you reuse/fix old ones?
I should still have one slightly damaged shield (I believe pass side)somewhere in my shed. I was so surprised that people try to sell it on ebay ...
