The official announcement!

Hi Everyone,

The Skip Barber one day driving school filled up fast! Because it was so popular I have secured an additional date April 8th (Thursday). Skip Barber requires that we pay for the class 30 days in advance...so we don't have much time to fill the new date. Anyone interested please respond ASAP. Below is the sign-up information.

SKIP BARBER ONE DAY DRIVING SCHOOL

Come join fellow Viper owners for a one day driving school. Skip Barber has created a spectacular day for us, changing the curriculum to allow us maximum driving time in their Vipers. This class will fill up fast...so sign up now. Below is the information for early signup.

Date: Thursday, April 8, 2004
Location: Mazda Raceway at Laguna Seca (Monterey)
Event Chair: Terri Angen at 408.621.0836 or [email protected]
Signup Deadline: March 7th
Cost: $598

Why choose this school?
· Skip Barber instructors are familiar with Vipers-Driving a Viper is a different technique than driving a BMW.
· Learn in a Viper: Once you learn the basics, you'll drive Skip Barber's Vipers, so you'll be learning in the car you drive
· Discounted price: The early bird price represents a 25% discount off the regular price.
· More Viper seat time: Since this class is for Viper club members only, Skip Barber tailors the class to give you more seat time in the Vipers than their normal classes.

In this one-day school, you'll learn the basics of vehicle dynamics, slide and recovery on a wet skidpad, and threshold braking. Then you'll put it all together on an autocross course. Ladies are encouraged to attend.
Save money and sign up soon. Class size is limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis. Entries received after the class if full will be placed on a wait list.

Note: A minimum of 15 students is required. If the minimum class size is not met, the class will be canceled and your check returned.

Get prepared for this year's season of driving events. For new Viper owners, it's the best intro to learning the performance limits of your Viper in a safe, controlled environment.

Is this open to VCA members only? I Also take it to understand that we will be using one of the school's vipers?

The school is a Viper Club event for Viper Club members and their family members. The school is discounted 25%. The savings will pay for two years of VCA membership. If you want to go join the VCA today and get take the school.

Vipers are one of the platforms used. This specific program has more Viper Seat time then a non-VCA program.

Thanks Fred,
The event sounds like a lot of fun, and great experience. Thursdays don't work unfortunately :( (would mean driving down the night before) and the savings between a thursday and weekend event would probably be the equivalent of a lifetime membership to the VCA. ;)

The weekends are mostly booked with races or open track events. Arcata is a nice drive.

I think flying into Monterey or San Jose might be better for a in and out activity. But if you make a long weekend that could be nice.

We have some members from Southern California attending the school. About the same drive as Arcata.

Hi Jeff,

It was a pleasure meeting you and welcome to the Viper Nation of Viperholics.

Rocky's wife Terri get all the credit for organizing the event and working out the details with Skip Barber.

We are considering an advanced one VCA school which would be very close to the Skip Barber Car Control Clinic. This is a very tiring program as it has 2x the seat time and is about 2 x the price. But still a great return on your investment.

Let us know how you like your new car.

I'll see whomever is coming at the April 8th school.
I'm Larry Wallerstein, 96 Viper RT/10 Black with Silver Stripes, and I'm driving it down from San Jose, if anyone wants to caravan.
