Skip Shift - Any way around it?

Not a fuse. There is a switch on the tranny that has to be disconnected, or you can get a skip shift eliminator. SnakeOyl sells one for $59.95 to VCA members, $69.95 if not a member.

I just installed the module from Summit racing. With the car on a rack it does not take more than a minute to do the mod. Just snap off the solenoid connector (female)insert the new male plug, then, place the new female plug into the existing module on the tranny. If you just disconnect the solenoid connector, it is possible you will get a continual error message.

Just a side note, when I ordered the kit from Summit, I indicated Viper in the order form. The unit is actually listed for a Transam of Camaro. They called the following week to see if the unit worked - it does (29.95)

<FONT face="Comic Sans MS">I must have an odd style of driving because in the several months I've had my Viper, never once has the shifter pushed me into 4th. I see the arrow come on for a second occasionally, but unless you're driving like granny (or in a blizzard) you typically accelerate right through skip range. </FONT f>

There is also a wiring plug under the passenger rug that (with help from the manual) you can find the wire to unplug. That way the plug or transmission under the car won't get dirty/wet. Email if you have questions, I have some (low quality) images I can send.
