So I'm upgrading my front brakes on the car and my purner skinnies will no longer fit up there.

So I have a few choices.

a - run ET streets on the back with my STOCK tires on the front
b - Sell the slicks and skinnies and run BFGs on the back with STOCK tires on the front
c - i don't know what C is.

Are there any things I can do to make the skinnies (or other skinnies) fit on the front?

Thoughts? suggestions? Ideas?

Re: Slicks question - Purners w/ stock fronts or BFGs?

Typically the radials up front squirm around more than the bias ply slicks in the rear. Some people say they've mixed them at the strip without terrible results. I wonder if inflating the radials to near max pressure while at the strip would stop them from squirming as much.
c. Maybe you could mount some narrow and ,better (higher speed rating) bias ply tires on a couple of space-saver spare rims to match your rear bias ply slicks?
Unless of course your brake upgrade prohibits the use of your OEM spare rim..

I would not mix them up. Maybe with a stock car but with big HP it can get hairy. My Cobra had lot of power for only being 2100lbs, and it was pretty out of control with slicks on the back and 275/40/17's on the front. The 90" wheelbase did not help any either.

Be safe. Find a way to make the skinnys work, or go with radials all around.

Just my OPINION....
