When I removed the windshield cowl from my GTS I found the two small black wedge shaped shims. It is now time to put the cowl back on and I want to get the shims back in the right place.....so, can anyone tell me exactly (or close to exactly) where they go? Unfortunately I did not know they were there when I was taking it off or I would have watched carefully to see where they came from. Hopefully one of you guys can shed some light on it for me.

As always, thanks!

there are 2 strut rods that stand up off the footwell boxes to support the center of the cowl that can have shim packs under them.

Don't know specifically but logically speaking they should go right where the cowl fixes to the body. This car probably has 10 lbs of shims all over. :(

they even put shims under the air bags to make them flush with the dash cover!
I thought I saw the shims where the screws attached the cover near the A-pillar.
I would probably set the cowl on and see where the gap is and put the shims there...probably just to avoid flexing the cowl, not so much for alignment
