Had a few problems with the Viper, so I hadn't driven it in a few weeks. I had it parked in my garage with windows up and now that nice little body panel composite smell you get when you first get in the car. The one that reminds you your in a Viper. Well it a bit stronger now. Like you can't drive it with the windows up. Any ideas to get that new viper smell back?
I was considering having the seats reupholstered to get a stronger leather smell in the car. I’ve even tried stuffing pieces of leather under the seat and buying a leather tool pouch for the back. Has anyone noticed a more distinct leather smell after have their seats reupholstered?

Steve:

I can tell you exactly what it is! It's your spare tire. Get rid of the tire and you'll get rid of the smell. Took mine out, conditioned my leather, no stinky or funky smell. Now tell me, would you really mount that spare if you had a flat. Yea Right

Spare tire? Seriously? I know, I like not to put that 50 mph tire on my Viper, But if I'm in the middle of no where and can't get help. I'd be happy to have it.

Chad, I'm looking do recover my seats in a black higher quality leather, but still look completely stock. what cho got?

Zaino Z-10 Leather In A Bottle, as mentioned above. Says on the front of the bottle "renews leather smell". This manufacturer claim is actually true, IMO. Great stuff.

Andrew, I think that 2 tone grey and black of Chad's would look great in our color of cars. Let me know when you have it done!

that's what I was thinking Miles B.

Blue Pilot, I'm scared. You first.
And I'm still thinking all black. A stock look but better. The question is should I do the center console and door panels?

Andrew, I think I would go with the seats and door panels and leave the center console alone, but that is just my opinion. My seats are still in great shape but when they start to go I will be calling Chad.
Chad, I am not scared ;) , I just have 2 kids in private school and a wife that wants a bigger house :(

why wouldn't you do the center console Blue Pilot? I have my reasons. One being the shift boot fits even worse with the leather on it than it does stock. But I do like seeing the whole [******] pit wrapped around in leather. Gives it an Aston Martin feel and look.

P.s. Blue Pilot, flew with a pilot friend of mine in a Lear 55 yeasturday. What a ride.

The word in [******] was cockpit.
I'll go wash my mouth out with soap now.

And thanks for the push Chad I'm checking out your site now.

I actually do not have a site, but my pictures can be looked at in my media gallery here and at viperalley. Just type in interior in the search box.
