1. what are the main differences between the ACR models and the GT2 models ('98)?
2. are customer bought viper gts-r's (from 2000 on)going to labeled "gts-r/t" or still "gts-r"?
3. how close in performance are tuner cars such as the hennessy venom 650R and venom 800TT to the gts-r's? meaning, why don't we see them on the ALMS and/or grand am circuits?

P.S. CAN'T WAIT TILL I'M AT DAYTONA!!!

The 98 GT2 is a commemorative GTS production model with badging to look like the GTS-R race car. It has K&N filters that add 10 hp.

The ACR (American Club Racer) was introduced in 99. It has stiffer springs adjustable shocks with ride height adjustment ability. It also has K&N filters for 10 extra hp.

The GT2 and ACR have BBS wheels and 5 point belts.

The GTS-R is the Race car built by ORECA in France. It has a carbon fiber body and many race specific components and of course a full roll cage. weight about 2650 pounds. The GTS-R's are proven road race winners winning Le Mans 3 times and the FIA and ALMS series.

The tuner cars are stock Vipers with engine mods and some other optional mods. But they are not GTS-R's and likely would have a very hard time trying to keep up at Le Mans, or most other venues. The GTS-R's produce about 650 HP with intake restrictors imposed by the ALMS. Without restriction? These are not cars that can be driven on the street. Tuner cars are for the street.

Hope that helps.
