As most Viper owners will say "proof is in the pudding". Ask your friend to go to the dyno pulls with you one day. I thnik he will find that if his 93/94 Viper is STOCK his numbers will be in the 360 to 380 maybe lower. That year produced 400HP (flywheel) I don't know how to correct that but I think I'm pretty close. If he puts N20 on his car (which I highly recommend) assuming it would be a 150 shot (pretty standard) he will most likely get 100-130 out of it at RW. With that last number it would seem that he would be doing a 300 shot (which I would NOT recommend).

Now, being able to relate to your friend. When I first purchased my 96 RT/10 I thought it was 415 at the rear wheel. I learned very quick this was untrue. He may think that since the new ones produce 450 his may as well. You know how you were when you first got the 300?? Maybe you should just ask him to lighten up? Or if all else fails take it to the strip.

Regards,

ScottP

The post that BadZ posted I find a little humorous. Here he is getting mad because someone is telling him that his car more powerful than his Z which may not be true at his stage of build, but I've heard other Z owners bragging they beat vettes and Vipers all day in their small modded Z's. I might believe the vette, but how many times do you see a viper on the road? If you're getting upset over somone telling you his car is more powerful than yours...who cares? Do you enjoy your car? If so, then what he says doesn't matter. His car could be pushing that kind of power if modded. I tell you what, if he spent as much money on mods that you spent, hell ya! he would spank you. But, to see your side too, Z's are very pretty cars. I used to have two twin turbos and one heavily modified, but I got out of that scene, because it seemed like a bunch of people on ego trips, not so with the Viper nation. People here are very helpful. Yeah we have squabbles sometimes, but for the most part, everyone here is very informative and helpful. Just my two cents..keep the change. Enjoy your ride!

I think you might be taking this guy with the Viper a little too seriously, and maybe yourself as well. I've known quite a few guys with different kinds of cars that don't have a realistic impression of how fast their car car is, or how fast they are in their car.

I generally just ignore them.

I run my cars on road courses, and it's more important for me to know how fast *I* am in my car, rather then how fast my car is, if you get my difference.

Take your car to the track, compare yourself to the other car/drivers, and forget about the blowhard at work.

I was in the Viper group that dyno'd at Fordspeed last month. My only mods are K&N, smooth tubes and no rear muffler. 425 rwhp. Last week I ran a 12.34 at DeSoto. Most of us are so obsessed with our Vipers I can see how some owners might talk too much about them. Happy Vipering.

I for one welcome the opportunity to join with ANY central florida car clubs for a dyno shootout. FordSpeed is an excellent facility and they treated us very well last month at our viper dyno day.

It could be like street racing without moving!! Put up the cash then make your best run!

My bone stock 94 RT dyno'd 352 RWHP, which equates to about 402 HP at the flywheel if you use the .875 conversion that many people seem to agree on for the Viper. With the right mods, it would certainly be easy to increase these numbers.
