squeaky hardtop?

What would everyone suggest doing to stop the dawg danged hardtop from sqeaking on the front windshields top frame plate? I was thinking of a light oil or grease to quite the insanity.

I had that problem..mine wasn't locking down solid. I yours? I had to replace the latches. I 'm sure someone will chime in on a peanutoil dressing that'll take care of it...JK

The only time mine squeaks is when one of the latches in the back has come loose a little bit. A couple turns with my trusty allen wrench, and no more squeaks

It appears to be down and latched solid, just a little chatter between the squeaky clean parts. Now about this allen wrench business, what can you wrench on the latch mechanisms?

On Gen 1's, the sportsbar pad has to be removed and 2 bolts on the hardtop are screwed into the sportsbar using an allen wrench. They are very bad about working theirself loose. I've looked back and seen the one on the driver side completely backed out before!
