Are you taliking about a DIN plug? You should be able to find a DIN to RCA adapter at any stereo shop. Just count the number of pins in the circle.

Yep. You found the DIN plug. I am not aware of an aftermarket adaptor. You may end up having to get an amp. And once you get the amp, then you may have to re-wire the speakers. I always say that if you go through all this trouble than you should definitely replace the speakers. The factory ones are not too good.
Good Luck!
If you really want to go crazy....shoot me an e-mail. I have done about all one can do for a Viper stereo upgrade.

Wayne,

Is the DIN on a Viper different than standard DINs? Back when I had a Kenwood deck, it had 8 pin dins for speaker outputs. If I remember correctly there were two all together on that deck. one front (L and R) one rear (L and R). I had Rockford Fosgate amps that had RCA inputs. All I had to do was hop on down to the car stereo shop and pick up 8pin DIN to RCA adaptors. 8 pin DIN on one side to 2 RCA on the other. They also had 5 pin DIN to RCAs.

Thanks guys. Ill probably rip apart the interior and redo the whole setup . . . I have a feeling if I put my kicker amp in with the Rio/Empeg deck it would be the same old story and blow the factory speakers.. . .

Thanks again

Hea hea hea,

I have istalled a few car stereos in my day. I bought one of those Empeg/Rio (Rio bought empeg out) car mp3 players with a 30 gig drive. I have decided to put in the Viper. I was expecting a couple of RCAs plugs dangling from the factory ALpine radio going to the factory amp (I figured this because I have had the identical Alpine in other vehicles and it had 2 sets of RCAs) What is used instead, in the factory alpine, is some type of circular plug much like the alpine cd changer cord for their add on changers. . . Since my Rio/Empeg is not self amplified and I would like to use the Dodge Factory amp, does anyone know of a crazy Dodge circular plug to RCA adapter so I can use the RCAs on the Rio/Empeg and plug it into the factory amp????
