After one LONG year, my Street Serpent should be on the road in 3 weeks. Final paint should be on shortly, and I had to share a few pics as the House of Kolors Kandy Red and Jeff Lemke's Street Serpent kit look amazing in person:

The wheel spacers are not on and I will wait until I have the wheel liners installed before setting the motons to their final height.

I WILL be taking one long road trip in this baby as soon as it's done.

Hi John
Car is starting to shape up nicely. The Kandy Red looks good on the hood that I can see from here. I think you will be well noticed. Looks good keep up the good work.

that is as far from stock as it gets... I think the doors and the windshield are the only original pieces.

Every panel from those pics looks like stock except the bottom of the bumper so its probably a whole new bumper, and an 08 style hood. I'm not sure thats why I asked but the rest as in the doors, side panels, fenders, lights everything else from what I can see looks the same. What exactly is done, and why? Are they made out of lighter weight carbon fiber or something along those lines?

Actually, the doors are the only original parts left over from the original SRT. The front end takes design clues from the comp coupe (the splitter is not on yet). As you stated, the hood is inspired by the '08 hood. Overall the body is 2" wider as well and the body lines are more aggressive than a stock SRT. The rear end has the styling from the SRT Coupe - so the Street Serpent combines styling elements from the SRT, the comp coupe, and the SRT coupe. The panels are made out of fiberglass and should weigh less than the stock panels.

You'll have to see one in person to appreciate how it looks compared to a stock SRT.

Maybe this will help?

Stock car before conversion:

With Street Serpent kit:

The change to coupe rear is very obvious, but what is not really noticed (at first) in photographs is Wider-Flared fenders and quarter panels, wider track, a completely resculpted side panel with a more aggressive "pipe". Also "wraps" that tuck the wheels and other subtle differences that give the car a different demeanor/attitude.

Again...Before:

After:

Hope this helps. It is hard to capture the overall difference in additude with photos. After getting used to looking at street serpents, stock cars begin to take on a bit of a bland appearance.

Hi Jeff
John's car looks, and looks like it should be done shortly. Going to be a nice day tomorrow and taking the SS#5 for a ride. Can't wait, considering it rains 5 days a week.

I hear you. This has been a long winter and seems summer will NEVER get here.

Still waiting....
