The stock forged TRW pistons & rings will survive on a well tuned forced induction engine. The top piston ring land on the stock forged piston is located 0.280" from the top of the piston. The cast Mahle pistons have the top ring land located 0.156" from the top of the piston. Of course, the piston with the ring closer to the top of the piston is most vulnerable to the harsh elements.
Detonation and excessive combustion chamber heat causes piston rings to lose their tension, rob engine performance and enhances even more detonation - oil in fuel
reduces octane. Running over-rich fuel mixtures (referred to as "bore wash") removes much needed oil lubrication off the cylinder walls and causes premature ring and piston wear.
With a properly tuned supercharger package your stock piston/ring combo can survive.
Best of luck,
Doug
