There's no break in.
I doubt there's anything wrong with the blower, but check the oil level and keep an ear out to be safe (look at the regular engine accessories too).
Of all 250+ compressors we've used, only 2 were timed improperly from the manufacturer (Autorotor).
When the cars were started, they actually made a ticking noise from the lobes hitting each other.
Both were replaced under warranty and I think we had to eat some labor at the shops that did them.
We've never seen one develop a problem with use, except for the one that ate a throttle body screw head that had broken off.
The higher the boost, the more the whine sound is pronounced.
Under full throttle, the car will sound like a jet in front, even with 5 psi.
