Syncro Mesh between 1st and 2nd Gear

My White Mamba has only 680 miles and I feel like the gears between 1st and 2nd do not syncro well on fast start revs; I just do not get that smooth-steady engagement that I feel a new car should have. Is this particular to the car's transmission? Any observations??? Art 138

I've not noticed this or heard of others with the issue, maybe have your local Gen3 tech check things out for you.

Hi Art,

Mine was a bit rough when new and has since (11,000 miles) smoothed out nicely when warm. It's still a bit rough when cold (after it's first started). I'd also have your local gen three tech check it out, as your fluid may be low.

The notchy feel when shifting is one of the characteristics of the T-56 when new. Really not to bad for such a huge transmission. At about 40-K miles you will notice the notchy shift gone. It takes that long for the syncros and gears to wear down. Blueprinting and balancing the trans, ($2500.00 job) would elininate this imediatly. It's not really the shifter as many people think, it's the newness and shear size of these trans. that make them hard to shift. Big rig trucks take about 100 thousand miles to get a nice shift out of them.

The sycro material in the T-56 is slow to wear.

ps, DC decided to overide Tremecs fluid choice of ATF and went with 75-90 for the higher shear pressure caracteristics, and this is also a factor.

I know this is old post, but my 06 has started to not want to go in gear from 1st to 2nd. 2nd is the only gear that you can sort of feel a grind to get into gear. I changed the fluid thinking it would correct the issue but it still does it, cold and hot. Could it be motor/tran mounts, clutch or ???? The clutch pedal is all the way to the floor and car has 5900 miles.

Sorry it's an old post, but I'm a fan of the feature. This is as close to a thread I could find with what sounds like the same issue with the exception my car has a lot more miles than the O/P.
