Viper Days Viper Days Viper DaysViper Days

Wow, what a great time! I have to encourage everyone with a Viper to get out and get to a Viper Days event. Skip Thomas, his daughter Courtney, and crew put on a fabulous event.
Viper Days is for all levels of drivers. I want to emphasize this because I think some of the new drivers miss this important point. There are four classes of drivers. Timing is used to group you where you belong so you feel comfortable and instructors are there for you all day long if you want. For those seeking to push their limits more there is the blue and white group. Again timing is used to grid you up so that passing is kept to a minimum. It is a lot of fun to heading down to the grid and being told you moved up a spot or so. And finally for those wishing to get into some side by side action, Viper Days has the race series that you can work towards.
What is so great about a Viper Days event is the tremendous feeling of community and family. Husbands bring their wives and while they guys are on the track they hang together talking about how wacked we are. Wives bring their husbands and the men work as their pit crew, changing tires and the like. The evening dinners allow all the participants time to get to know each other, talk about the track, and brag about their accomplishments. You will meet some of the nicest Viper owners at these events and some of the most knowledgeable.
Skip and Courtney would give the shirt off their backs to help out and Skip literally did that this year, Courtney kept hers on. Skip raised $200 for charity as he slowly stripped of his shirt to the wooohooos of the women and the horror of the men in a bidding war. Sorry no pics of that.

And talk about support. Track side support is offered by Archer Racing. This is like having your own pit crew where each member is a Viper Tech on steroids! You need it and they have got it.

So check out the Viper Days web site for more information http://www.viperdays.com/home.html
A great explanation of how the driving school works can be found here http://www.viperdays.com/about_us.htm and for those looking for results they can be found here http://www.viperdays.com/results.htm

A personal thank you goes out to Skip and Courtney, John and Russ from Arching Racing, our two track stewards extraordinaire, and all the flaggers and track workers that kept us safe.

Check out the schedule and come out and play!!
