that is able to adjust the intensity of the light on the Viper's instrument panel is a feature that is on every car I have known.

Now, tell me why I need this feature. The only thing I can think of is that on a really dark road, the panel lights are too bright?

Windshield reflection as a result?

Is this feature federally mandated?

(I know, I know - pretty lame for a topic. But I have wondered since I was a kid about the importance of this feature for which I have never had the slightest use.)

The instrument glare on the Viper windshield is worse than most. In fact, the only car I use the rheostat on is my Viper. All others I leave on full brightness.

Not only is the dash dimmer control on the Viper, but it is on most other cars as well. I don't know why that would surprise you. I use it sometimes, like suggested above if I use my headlights during the day like if it is raining.
