Chris, You compare the GTS to an older Vette.

They both borrow design cues from even older cars.

Cobra Daytona Coupe, and before that, the Ferrari 250GTO.

Long hood, short tail. The French call this the "crouching lion", like its ready to pounce, with its front paws outstretched, and its rear legs coiled. Its a classic design theme that gives timeless lines to the 1968-1982 Vettes, 1962 ?era Ferrari 250 GTO, Cobra Daytona Coupe, 1996-2002 Viper GTS, and even like a 1937 coffin-nosed Cord, and a 1937 Mercedes 500SK. And others! Timeless designs never die.

By contrast. ever wonder what happened to the great styling themes pioneered by the Pacer? Matador? Edsel? All gone, happily!
