Went to install a battery tender and noticed this thing that doesn't look like it belongs just slid in with a little double sided tape holding it in place.
UNITRAX
KING Of GEARS is on 1 side and "calibrated" on the other. Haven't pulled the covers to see where the wires go. What is it?

Your car must have a set of gears(3.45s or 3.55's). That box modifys the signal from the speed pickup to the speedo. so it reads accurately.

Ask the guy you bought it from?
Jack the rear up and count the wheel revolutions vs. driveshaft revs. You'll be able to tell between 3.55s and 3.73s (or whatever) And you'll def. know it's not the stock ratio.
Maybe there's a part number on the 'box' you could call Unitrax with? Is there an adjustment on the box?
Might be a tag on the diff?(seems unlikely).
And lastly, does it realy matter? They're changed and unless you really were looking forward to cruising in 6th at 1250 rpm on the highway, then...good for you, you've got a nice mod. that you can check off your list!
