Who's going to the March 3-4 Viper Days event at Thunderhill? I've been coaxed to possibly sign up with my Mustang. Would guys be willing to share the track with a lowly Mustang?

Hi Bill,
I personally wouldn't mind as long as you drove responsibly but i'm not the person to ask. I would e-mail Courtney@viperdays and see what the insurance and operation plan has to say..

I don't think you have to worry. The last time, there was an old 70s TA with a blower out there. If I remember right, he spun out and stalled and had to be towed in. There was also a new 911 TT.

I don't think anyone cares as long as you promptly move over and let the Vipers by when they lap you! hehe

PS. I'll be there.

I would call Skip and Courtney. They don't make a practice of it, as the Michelin Challenge Series is essentially for Vipers and C5's, but with all the work you do on Vipers, I would think he'd be glad to assist. Look forward to seeing you there, as I am probably going to fly out and help with things and maybe borrow someone's car for a few laps, ha.

To put you all at ease, I've been open tracking for the last ten years or so and have raced at Thunderhill, Buttonwillow, Sears Point, Laguna Seca, and the Streets of Willow. I may not have the ultimate power of the Vipers we work on, but my car hustles around the track pretty decently (5.8L, 327 rwhp, 387 rwft/lb., 3,100lb.)
Just talked to Courtney. I'll be signing up for the Sunday event, so I'll see you guys there for sure, probably on Saturday night.

My shop is open on Saturdays, so I have to work. I'll likely be up at the track on Sunday, though.
