Does anyone have tips on getting the best 1/4 mile run? I'm going to Milan Dragway in a few weeks and racing my Dad 69 Roadrunner, brother 79 TransAm and two uncles 69 Roadrunner and 70 RT Coronet. I've had my 1995 RT/10 for a month and it is stock with 1,700 miles. I'll have K/N filters and smooth tubes on it before we go.

How many RPM's at light? Drop clutch and mash gas or roll it out? What are the best RPM's to shift out of 1st, 2nd, etc.

I've raced at Milan 4 times in the last 2 years. The track prep and track kind of *****, so you may not get the numbers some others on here get that run at nicer tracks. I am by no means an expert or anywhere close to it, but latley I have been launching around 3,000 rpm's and feathering the clutch. Bring it all the way to 6,000 rpm's in first (which is the consensus of many on here), and then maybe 5,600-5,800 in the other gears. I am still experimenting with shift points myself. Have only got a 12.25 at 120 or so as my best at Milan.

MotorCityMadMan, Is there an alternate track than Milan fairly local to us in Michigan? I'm in Clarkston just North of Pontiac.
