I need some feedback from you top speed freaks. If I wanted to make an all out top speed run in my car, what special preparations need to be done to the car. I'm concerned about aerodynamics in the GTS. Has anybody ever had their car in a wind tunnel? Also, besides the Bonneville salt flats, where is this kind of thing being done? Thanks. :headbang:

Russ, you should come down to Nevada early next year and join some of us in the Silverstate Classic..90 MIles of road , unlimited speeds ;)

I'm sure Paolo can give you some solid advice on prepping your car.

Cheers

Jeff, are you going to attend with your new Viper? If so, we should get a group together from San Diego and head up there at the same time. Should be a blast. BTW, are you getting a rollbar put in your car?

Manny , lets definetly plan on hitting the SSC together !
Rollbar's are not required to particpate in the SSC, but I have been considering getting one for overall safety reasons.

I just hate the way they look in an RT .

Uhhhh, this is a Heffner car, you're gonna need some kinda FAA clearance to achieve low earth orbit, contact air traffic control, or 1Tony1, or I, as pilots we can perhaps lead you in the right direction. Let's see, we launch on the expressway VFR, without clearance and then file IFR when airborne. Whadday think Tony?

Hi Russ,

We have tested at airstrips in the midwest and were thinking about how cool it would be to have a 1 mile and 1/2 mile shootout fairly close to Chicago. Then you would have the beginings of a 1 mile and 1/2 mile shootout circut. What do you guys think?

The Pony Express and the Gamblers 100 are a couple of more open road races and this year they have added a new one. The Bonneville 100. This should be a very interesting high speed run. It climbs to 2000 ft. then a turn around and back down. I have done them all except this one. www.openroadracing.com/.
