I have a 94RT/10 and a 2000RT/10 both with about 600hp.
Has the rear suspension changed much from 94 to 2000? While my 2000 is slightly faster from lugging to the redline, my 94 spins the tires constantlyand the 2000 plants the to the road. Side by side the newer cars wins easily. I'm not complaining at all, just wondering. They both are on Pilot Sports.
Thanks.

Gen I cars from 92-95 had cast iron suspensions.

96 onward have aluminum, and all-new geometry, and different springs. Therin lies most of your answer.

And the difference between the two is night and day.
I had the 1994 R/T and enjoyed it very much. When I went to the new GTS, the change was a very different experience. Both years were very enjoyable. I can't imagine getting the newer 003.

That's interesting. I have a '94 and the biggest problem I find is getting initial traction for drag racing. Is there a suspension mod that could make the Gen I more "grippy" off the line? I'm tired of practicing 2200, 2300, 2400, 2500, 2600, 2700, 2800, 2900 ... rpm launches and still hoping to get a a more solid footing!

Thanks for the answer. Knew it wasn't just me. At first I had thought the 94 had more power because it would break the loose all the time. I was very happy to see the 2000 was faster when I put them side by side.
