Things are moving positively towards my purchase of a 94 RT/10 to be exported to NZ. I am looking at purchasing new tyres to be exported with the car. The plate on the car recommends the following tyre sizes: 275/40 WR 17 -F 335/35 WR 17 -R.

What is a reasonable price for a set of tyres?

I can purchase Michelin Pilot 285/40 ZR 17 tyres here in NZ for about US$160 (inc tax), would these be suitable for the car? (these would usually be about US$450 inc tax here)

Are any particular tyre manufacturers better than other?.

Where would the best place to buy a set of tyres in the Seattle area?

(The car will be used on the open road rather than the track.)

Thanks Philip

Philip,

Stick with the Pilot Sports, and 285's up front will work just fine...I think you will get a much better deal purchasing the set through Parts Rack (360-837-3937)
or Tire Rack (888-541-1777), if you have a couple of days for shipping to Seattle, than to try and locate them locally...But if local is your only choice, go to WAL*MART...they too will take a couple of days to get in...

BTW...Here in the US, "tyre" is spelled "tire"...You don't want people thinking you are French, do you???
