Vinyl Stripes???

What do you guys think of them? What is the average cost and quality? Range of colors? And how close to the real thing does it look?

I plan on getting a non-striped viper and possibly adding vinyl stripes on it so I can mix it up once in awhile.

It is damn hard to get them straight. Especially on the GTS. But for sure, it is the easiest, cheapest and best way to try a few things with your car. You can remove them whenever you want, you can try another colour whenever you want, and you definately now how the will look with painted stripes, if you're going to paint them.

If you definately know you want stripes, and you 100% sure of everything you should paint them. It's worth the money. Especially when it's done really good, and you can't feel a small step on the surface.

I had vinyl on my car to see how much I would like them. I liked them so much I had the stripes painted on which cost me about $3000. When I put the vinyl on I used 3mil and it cost about $110 and took about 6 hours to do. Hard to get them on straight, especially on the hood. Whoever did Ravenfan's did a hell of a good job but it took time. Go for it!

Can someone recommend somewhere online to purchase stripes? I read the How-To section on stripes application...any other tips on applying stripes on a GTS? What length is necessary? Are the stock stripes 8" wide and 4" apart? Do all agree that 3 mil thickness is best? Thanks

Go with the 3mil. 2mil will tear to easily and 4 mil is just to hard to work with. Get a hair dryer cause you will need it to go around the facsia. Yes, stock stripes are 8" wide with 4" between them. Cannot remember the length just get a tape and measure. I believe I bought 42 feet. That allowed me a couple of feet for errors. You will love it. Totally changes the car. I took my vinyl off and had the stripes painted on, that is how much I liked it. Goog luck.

Vinyl 3M, from any sign shop. Mine done by a pro striper, 4 hours, third brake light looks like the stripe was painted on, looks like factory painted stripes on that area.

Vinyl comes in many different forms. There are different grades, thickness and lasting vinyl that you can choose from. Pricing will vary depending on where you get it from. Choice would be premium 7-9 year outdoor 3 mil vinyl in your choice of color. To have it installed on your car (especially a Viper) will also vary. Some shops charge an outrageous price, while other shops are fair. We sell and install Vinyl Stripes mostly for Vipers.
