(I put this reply on the wrong post earlier - here's another try)

My wife Camille and I will be attending in the newly repaired Flyg Low (I obviously need driving school). We'll be driving up I-5 from San Diego in the 94 Viper on Friday 2/21/03 about 10 AM. Anyone else from San Diego going and want to gaggle? Or from LA for a lunch meet, or around 1 PM with a suggested meeting place? We will be staying at the Sheraton.

I'll be heading up from Scripps Ranch at about 2:00 PM. If you get a late start let me know and we can hook up. If not, I'll see you there.

I'd like to come up to watch, but if I come with the Viper do I have to park in a designated spectator area? How secure is it?

I know at LACR spectators park seperately on a lose gravel type surface, I would never want my car in the spectator lot at LACR.

Park in pretty much any spot you want, its all paved. Just common sense stuff. I feel more safe at the Viperdays events than in any shopping mall parking lot.

Allen, parking there is no problem. Its way more casual than having a designated parking area. People just park pretty much wherever they want. And I wouldn't worry about anyone messin with your Viper. The place is full of road racer types, and they are pretty decent.

I won't be there unfortunately, because I'm busy with the rest of my life. Have fun, everybody.

Weather will be nice this weekend (atleast here in CA). I maybe able to enter for 1 day, 'hope it's not too late.
Is there any other place other than at the track to get tech inspection done (i.e. Said/Star Tech, or Dan Cragin)?
It will be my first time, anxious to meet the veterans for some pointers.

No it's not too late, you probably can sign up on the day of the event and no $50 late penalty. Viperdays techs all the cars at the track. I'll be there if you want some pointers.Allen, you can park in the pits!

Re: Viper Days at Buttonwillow Feb 22 & 23 2003

Thanks for the late drive offer Kurt (SIC), but we're going to leave San Diego earlier to allow several stops on the way up. Maybe it's just the Gen I's but Flyg Low rides sort of harsh and loud. Not sure I can take 5 hrs in one stretch, and I know my wife can't (or it would be the last time).

I'll watch for other Vipers heading north on I-5 and just latch on to them enroute. Getting very excited just reading the forum. Not sure if I'll be slowing everyone down on the track, or whether my brake fluid, pads, or tires will survive, but I'll be the one with the big grin.

I'm leaving the longboard home -- lots of beach up there but no surf.

Weather is looking good, I am thinking about heading up to hang out and see what its all about.

Eddie I will be there on Saturday. Probably noonish, is that too late? If so I will head out earlier in the morning.
