Well on Sunday 08/16/09 an attempt was made to run two Scalextric cars around the original 2.75 mile circuit of Brooklands (the worlds first ever motor racing circuit).
This was a big event and challenge,with 'Top Gears James May' Starting the race!
Lots of the old circuit has been replaced by industrial units and offices, also roads have been cut through the banked track allowing traffic into the industrial and retail park!
Hornby supplied the track for the challenge, the track ended up going through office windows,over desks and even across a river! roads were also being closed and traffic held up while the Two 'official' cars attempted to get round the track!
The two official slot cars were a Arrows mercedes and Aston martin. So while we sat waiting for the cars to come around some sneaky VCA Member put this on the track
The Boys in the car tried going on the original circuit, but found the going a little ruff!!!!
The Scalextric cars could not make the top of the Banking, they kept falling off the track!
