I started a post about a 500 mile oil change - I got my Viper from Bill and the Woodhouse team but live in PA. How do you figure out where to take your car if infact you require real service? Is there a Dodge number you can call to ensure the dealership has trained Viper Techs? My last post referenced Reedman and some folks have mentioned negative comments about Reedman - I called another local dealership Jarrett Dodge in Horsham PA and spoke with the Service Manager - he took about 10 minutes with me and explained he has 2 Viper techs on staff - he reviewed their training and the fact that they must periodically go for follow up training etc. He made me feel better in that he seemed to know what he was talking about but at the end of the day how can you be sure? Is it truly trial and error? Thanks

Have you called YOUR local VCA officers ???

We TRY to KNOW the status of the service at the FEW experienced and "Viper friendly" dealers in our 2 state Region. Several of our officers keep a watchful eye on this situation. Admittedly, a given Viper Tech may leave a given dealership, and the situation may indeed change. I must say that I have found the service managers to be most helpful in sharing plans as well as problems in this area with us as they know that a good reputation backed by good service helps us ALL. One can ALWAYS find unhappy customers at any dealership...so we try to drop in to the places that have the highest volume of Vipers to service, and in that fashion, we seem to stay abreast of the "service status", and especially the recall work....and this hands on approach seems to work well. It is getting easier to spot the "ringers". As only one officer, I personally receive 10-15 such calls a week...and that does NOT include the DYI group or the "proper fluid" questions. The calls help ME learn more and more.

I sure would make a few calls to your Regional Officers.

Good luck,

Steve Fess Sec. VCA IN/KY Region, Inc.

I usually let my 2 year old son work on the Viper. He has the same training as the so called Viper techs in my area. If it is a huge problem then Chuck T. takes care of me.
