Viper weight.

Took my gen 2 rt to a certified scale the other day and was very surprised at the actual weight of the car. It came in at 3340 with about 1/4 tank of gas, which is considerably lighter than all the literature I have read state it should weigh.

What does a GTS scale at? And how about gen 1's.

02 owners manual state curb weight at 3440 lbs for the RT/10 and GTS. Although I can remember reading the GTS was suppose to be a few pounds heavier, due primarily to the roof and rear glass.

Are the published weights dry or with fluids?

Not sure, I know motorcycle weights are dry weights, I am assuming vehicle weight published would be with fluids.

Maybe your car is on the Atkins diet. You aren't allowed to eat rice.

my 2000 weighs in at 3380 with 1/2 tank of gas and about 40lbs heavier in the back than front(this was with the hard top on)

I would venture to guess that the fuel is making a lot of difference. I think it weighs 5lbs/gallon or so. Also, is your car stock? Have you changed wheels or anything that might have lightened it up a little?

97 GTS Public scale - Purners/street, Balengers, no cats, no mufflers, but, a roll bar and bottle - 3375

That's a lot of car for 3340lb! Compared to the Euro cars - it's a great acheivement. An Aston, Merc TTV12 or supercharged V8 Jag are all over 4000lb. Even the supercars like the Ferrrari 575M and the Lambo V12's are considerably heavier.
