Wait.. A 2002 engine won't fit in a Gen 1 right?

I used to have a Gen 1 a while ago and I could swear that the Gen 2 engine isn't a direct drop in for a Gen 1. I had a 1993 with a Gen 1 1996 RT engine, which was the newest engine I could put in there. Please, correct me if I wrong although I don't think I am...

Hopefully, whoever gets this auction isn't trying to drop it into a Gen 1.

Some components are in different places when comparing Gen 1 to Gen 2 engines (thermostat housing and alternator come to mind)

Physically they are not much different, but the computer/wiring harness etc are totally different.

Cam sprockets are completely different.It will NOT work as a DIRECT drop in for a Gen I !
