Wandering SRT 10?

How does the new SRT10 handle on the rutted roads compared to the Gen 1 or even the Gen 2 Viper?

I’m wondering if the changes in the car have made any improvement on the wandering issues on the roads that have the light ruts in them?

Tim:

I have a 2000 GTS and a 2003 SRT/10. Both cars are equally bad about tracking out in the gullies and dips.

Oh yey, they still wonder, a bit less than the GTS.

The best solution is to make changes in the alignment setting. No problems will result from this, other than a 5% increase in tire wear.

I had those settings down pat on the GTS, and I have been experimenting on the SRT, so far it's a must to camber the front wheels in at the top, still within range limits, toe outward to the end of the range limits. This part used to be a very big improvement on the GTS. I've done three alignments on the car already, one because of the lowering, the others are because of a radical wheel and tire change, "drag radials" Not happy yet!

This will make the car drive much better.

If you travel on certain highways, this will wear you out.

Wide tires on the car are the culprit.

Now that I'm starting up a vendor bussiness, this will be one of my R/D projects.

Agreed. Still wandering. Albeit the ride is smoother in the Gen III, so it is not as noticeable. However, I feel it purely emotional as the car is still following everything underneath it.

I've not driven a Gen I or Gen II, but the SRT-10 does wander in ruts. When I first bought the car, I had a hard time with it, but now, I can feel the drift coming, and usually correct without thinking. There are particularly big ruts on a road I drive frequently, and I drive way to the right to stay out of them. Catch a big rut the wrong way, and I'm half a car width over in the blink of an eye.
