Although not as trick as Yellow Fever's Diablo friend (love those yellows!), we had a nice cruise ourselves today:

NSX's, Corvette (1), Vipers, Lotus, and three Ferrari's including a GTO and F40. Pretty slick.

My thanks to Jerry (KC VCA and Ferrari Club VP) for putting this one together!

Austin, here you go. This is not from the crusie today, but it is my RT with stripes you see in the one pic above.

I've since chaged the wheels to chromed VR-1's with slotted and drilled rotors.

Cool RT/10. It appears to have white stripes and silver stripes (below tag).

They are all silver. The extreme sun light on the car is what is making it look that way. My 14 year old took the pic.

Come on Chris, I know you must have 100's of pic's from today, let's see a few more.

The guy in the white NSX had a video camera and was filming all day long. Maybe Jerry can get some from him and post some clips.

Nice pictures of all those bad-*** cars ... except ... do I see a Vette there? What was that doing there?

Although it is very similar to a normal 308, I think the Ferrari GTO is a GREAT body style. Kinda like the BMW M1, you just don't see them around at all. Wish I could be part of a cruise like that ! ! ! Please post all the pics you can...

That GTO was a bad a$$ car! I was there in my viper behind it (going a little over the speed limit LOL) SCARED TO DEATH I might kiss the back of it! All I could picture was $400,000(what a fellow driver said it was worth)in bills stacked up in front of me just waiting for me to make a mistake! LOL It was a great time though. Lots of fun!

You ar correct on the price of a 288. New they were 85k and today they bring $400k. I think total production was 271 units. The F40 was based on the earlier 288. So many think the 288 is a 308 flared out. Not even the same car.

I have tons of pictures of the 288 but I would hate to highjack this thread. They are just so rare.

The Ferrari guys had a good time in our multi make car cruise.

Non daily drivers will always huddle together.

You must be talking about another thread. Even that F40 has more miles on it than almost every Viper here except Chuck. You are looking at a bunch of car enthusiasts that drove a lot of miles on some iffy roads - in the rain. I'll bet there aren't too many daily Vipers in Canada that go more than 4-5 months at a time! ;)

As to pictures, I am afraid I didn't go for any close ups on the GTO other than from behind when I was following it (shot many pictures of it at another venue we shared before). However here are a few more pictures from yesterday:

Staging area for departure...

After getting caught at a light (myself and a red NSX), we hauled ass and caught up. Didn't expect to see the new SRT Coupe in line!! ;) (I miss MarkO's posts...)

Winding through rural Kansas and Missouri. While I didn't get a picture, apparently somebody up front ********** an elderly lady standing on the side of the road later on: She was giving the trailing cars the one-fingered salute as her very embarrassed son(?) tried to pull her offending hand down. Wild!

Lots of twists and turns, not to mention a few hills. Hey, we don't have a coastline but we make do!

The only "bottom out" spot on the trip if you weren't paying attention. Fun to be in a group where EVERYBODY has clearance problems and has to slow down...

Oh yeah, whats-his-face's Viper... ;)

A nice looking line up indeed...

At this stop the Vette wisely put his top up. Thankfully at speed even the SRT doesn't get water inside when it is raining.

Of course at least we had a top, unlike three beautiful RT/10's that came without 'em. We put our top up here while the rain abated.

Color of the Day? Why red of course! At least the yellow Lotus and my yellow SRT-10 were paired up.

And yes, we had lunch at a national chain instead of the local greasy spoon we were looking for (it was closed at the earlier stop). Next time!

It was a great time and I hope we can do it again soon. Oh yeah, I guess we will on Sunday if the weather is good: The annual Toys For Tots Cruise is this Sunday at 10:00 AM. Hope to see these guys (and many more) there!

Thanks, Badvenm. Your RT looks really good with the stripes and Forgelines. :2tu:

Glad to hear you guys drive your cool cars. I'm still not over that post about the daily drivers. I think I was told that cars with too much performance should be left in the garage and the owner pass his life in a couch-like car.
I'll be parking my Viper when the city lays down the salt for the Winter. That I can't do anything about.
