On my passenger side, it appears that I have water on my floor mats since they are a bit soaked. At first I thought I busted a heater core, but it's not that...where else could water leak in from? I think it did it when I was washing the car....or had to let it sit out in the rain for one day....any ideas where to look?

You had it in the rain for a day...... Say it isn't sooo.
Did you get your shift light working? If so what one did you end up with?

A BUNCH of us had this happen in the heavy rain at VOI.7 in Nashville...might search those threads.

More popular theories that I recall included the door molding along the bottom (a gap) and the HVAC intake filling with water and overflowing thru the air vents into the cockpit...the latter being due to plugging of that little flat rubber drain in the bottom of the HVAC housing. Our GTS's had standing water in the right hood grill that emptied when we opened the hood, revealing that the HVAC box was completely FULL of water.

I'm sure there were several other causes discussed as well.

I can attest to this. Whenever I drive my GTS, I notice A small beam of light near the bottom of the passenger's side door (near the speaker). This would be potential problem in the wet.

AB, I has the same problem after washing. The leak turned out to be a bad gasket between the fresh air intake and the fan motor. That might not be the right term, but it is the unit in the engine compartment under the speaker grill in the hood (smile). It comes out with three screws if I remember right. I replaced the gasket with waterproof weather strip. Removing also makes installing plugs on that side much easier.

Good luck.
