What are the benefits of installing Half Shaft Loops

I just broke my shafts, and wondering if Loops would limit damage and in what way. Also, at high speed, what would happen if shafts brake. How would loops help if shafts broke at high speeds

The loops keep the shafts from banging around as much as if there were no loops. Hopefully, once the shafts break, you've sensed something is wrong and have let off the gas.

I had a shaft let go last year at Atco. I was almost at the traps going about 145mph. Had no loops at the time. The half shaft split my rear end housing into 2 pieces. It was one scary ride. Never again will I go down the track without them.

Do the shafts have to come off when installing the Unitrax Loops?

No. The Unitrax style are threaded loops that go over the shafts into brackets that secure them to the frame. Not hard to install.

Fortunately I live only a few miles from Unitrax, so they did it all.

I think they were $195. Unitrax gives a VCA discount too.

The current Unitrax loops are designed to accomodate the recall work in some Vipers. The older ones had to be modified as posted by Jack B.
Easy install.
