What gear ratios are you supercharged guys running? I have 3:55's in my car and at the track was close to 6K rpm at the end of the quarter in 4th gear @130mph. If I supercharged my car and went with stock ratios, could I avoid shifting into 5th? What is the maximum mph in 4th gear with a stock differential?

Stock 3.07 in my Viper.

Just need a bit more power to get to the top of 4th gear in the quarter.

And lots more driver seat time at a track.

4th gear at 6000 rpm with 3.07= 148 mph

Thanks, I guess that leaves me with some breathing room. :2tu:

Yeah if you put your 3.07's back in !!

here is what you CURRENTLY HAVE:

http://www.xse.com/leres/bin/gearratio?title=SS+%23670+with+MM6+manual+and+GU6+3.42+gears&rpm=6000&mph=55&gear1=2.66&gear2=1.78&gear3=1.30&gear4=1.00&gear5=0.74&gear6=0.50&reverse=2.90&axle=3.55&tire=diameter&diameter=25.91&circumference=81.40

you can change the rear end axle ratio with whatever you want, so you can see what each gear gets you !!

YOUR WELCOME !!

I've done it before if you girls would like some help.

I PRAY you two are not goign to be posers by actually paying someoen to swap them for you.. its a SIMPLE job !!

Just swap the case and all, and its an easy couple hour job with 2 people working on one car each at the same time.

Cool link! Thanks. I've been kicking around switching to either 3.45's or 3.55's. However, according to that calculator, with 3.45's I'll only be able to go 46 mph @ 6,000 rpms in Reverse. That just might not be acceptable. May have to re-think this thing. :p

My calculations have 4th gear at 6000 rpm with 3.07= 151 mph.

I may need less more power if it's only 148 mph.

We dont actually go 150 in 4th, like I TOO originally thought on stock NEW tires and original 3.07's. And I didnt just take that tools word for it, I spun mine on a dyno to redline, and sure enough, it comes up short. Something like 146.xx mph !! Damn liars, I thought I had 150mph in 4th at 6k !!

I have the dyno graphs to prove it, if anyone needs it.

5th is the gear you get your top speed off of, NOT 6th, no one does there top speed in 6th in a viper, UNLESS its a 4.10 gear, and even then its not going to take you very far

Top speed is defined at redline in 5th gear.

I've got 3.55s and still making it through the traps in 4th (at 127MPH), but with much more power I'd consider going back to the stock 3.07 gears.

I don't care about top speed as there is no place to drive that fast here. Let alone safely.
