I'm sick and tired of missing body panel bolts (the hex head bolts with the attached washer used to attach fenders and fascia on our cars) and am going to buy a whole frikkin box of 'em from McMaster Carr.

Trouble is, I can't find 'em on the McMaster website.....they're not called body bolts, nor fender bolts, nor anything else I've heard them called.

I've already done a search for "body bolts" on the VCA Forum but the closest I get is "fender bolts" from this post

http://forums.viperclub.org/rt-10-gts-discussions/640561-where-find-fender-bolts.html

"Body bolts" is what O'Reilly's Auto Parts labels them as.... but McMaster doesn't recognize "body bolts" as a category.

Anyone know what the real/proper name for these doo-dads is?

I don't know exactly what your needs are, but I used these when I replaced the christmas tree fasteners for my fascia...

Hex Flanged Cap Screws, 5/16"-18, grade 8

...and this type can be found on McMaster-Carr

Wow! That was fast. I appreciate the links, it looks like the PDQ link has exactly what I need (there are three sizes of these things on the car, fender, front fascia and rear fascia).

(I wonder why McMaster doesn't recognize "body bolts"....that seems to be the name)

Thanks!:)
