What is the difference between step lip and reverse lip?

Reverse Lip is a deep STRAIGHT EDGE LIP. Straight Rim Outer. Manufacture requires a larger center than a step-lip, which has a distinct 2-level (step) to it, ie Lip and Rim.
When cleaning a step-rim, my index finger and thumb each 'ride their step'.
On a Reverse Lip (straight lip) the entire lip is F L A T. A deep-macho look that costs more to make
