Probably depends on what you are selling.
Plus, it is against the VCA site policies to post for-sale stuff in forums... has to be in the classifieds. And since there is a new guy doing the board adminsitration, i suspect the rules are being tightened down ever-so-slightly at the moment.

Well a professional would remove all for sale adds in the forums. Not just pick and choose. He also needs to let someone know the reason he deleted a post. And as for you Joseph, this is ********, not whining. Big difference,lol

Blue and silver coupes are not allowed to be sold in the classifieds. They have to be given away to the 1st person who asks for it. So, I'd like to take this time and officially ask for your car. I'll send you my address so it can be transported to my house

You posted an ad for an SRT Coupe in the RT/GTS section of the forums? I'm gonna take a wild guess here and say it was because you didn't provide pics...

You are probably referring to rule #6
Posting Polcy:
1. All posts must conform to a standard that is acceptable in content to Prime Time Broadcast Network TV (TVPG ), no ******, *********** or profanity). Posts not maintaining this standard will be deleted.
2. Personal assaults, threats, use of copyrighted material, fraudulent statements, or comments derogatory to any ethnicity or orientation will be deleted.
3. Negative statements about vendors, customers, or others must be first hand, and substantiated. Furthermore, we reserve the right to hold negative posts until substantiated, and to give the parties reasonable time to work it out.
4. Attempts at thread hijacking (malicious posting in a fashion to a topic, with intent to change the initial focus) will be deleted.
5. Redundancy, bumping a topic to bring its' position to the top of the forum, or multiple new threads that are intended with purpose to annoy will be deleted.
6. Classified ad posts to the forums will be deleted. Non-Viper Commercial posts will be deleted with the exception of approved commercial posts by site sponsors. Please note that classified ads, in our classifieds area, are free to VCA members.

1) I'm still here in limited mentality...I am hoping to meet up with Lee in MD in a week or two.
2) Since he posted his ad in BOTH the SRT area AND this area....and...since he has NO VCA Member number in his profile...and.....since he has NO VIPER VIN in his profile....it was intuitively obvious to even the most casual observer that:
a) He never read, or cared to follow, the posted policies.
b) It is entirely possible he is some non-supporting dealer trying to sell a car.....when our supporting dealers have paid for that right.
Bottom line is.....he misused the system BLATANTLY. Now....had he actually had his supporting information in his profile I likely would have left it up and asked that he put an ad in the Classifieds...then I would have offered to add a link to his thread. This is something we have allowedd for YEARS...and this is something I have done a ZILLION times for people. When I noticed he claimed to be a Viper Owner, but had no VCA Member number, no Viper VIN, and didn't even post a PAID ad....I defaulted to protecting the known supporters/dealers/vendors/etc.
Having said all that...this thread will be closed at midnight tonight.

All this is understandable and respected, but all this could have been avoided if when it was deleted there was some kind of explination. And I have never been on a site where I had to give my vehicles vin and member number to post something for sale. Thanks for the info!

Well, you did get a pm from me explaining the rule, although I was a little late to the party, and I give you props for responding to that and here as a gentleman. Tony, I will buy the drinks anytime, umbrellas or not!
