does anyone has a picture or clear explentation on where to put the support which you normally put under the car after jacking it up in order to work under it without the jack under it.

I've seen it on pictures, it is quite far in front, but what is the best place without damging anything.

Excuse me for probably not using the correct words...

I place the jack stands on the frame behind the front wheels, just outside of the inner fender.

Hi, Roy.

One point to make...when I use a floor jack, I am careful to check that the jack pad remains precisely under the side-sill jacking points...AND that the jack is free to roll on its wheels as the Viper goes up. If the wheels get stuck in a floor crack on on a pebble, the Viper can slip off of the pad, cruching the side-sill, possibly the side pipes, and maybe YOU!!

Roy, When I am working under my car I support my Viper with large wood blocks rather than jackstands. When I need to work the area of the car where the blocks are, I jack up the car with the floorjack, move the blocks to a different part of the frame, and lower the jack. I may be wrong but I believe the Viper frame is strong enough to support the car at any place on the frame. The 4 "jacking points" on the car which are pointed out in the owners manual are the points designed for use with the car's jack which is carried in the car with the spare tire. I use those jacking points first with a small "racing jack" when jacking up the car. Once the car is high enough for clearance of a large floor jack, I use that jack at a convenient place on the car's frame to lift the car high enough for the blocks which are 12"x12"x12". I place 6" long pieces of 1"x6" on top of the big blocks to allow me enough room to work under the car. It is rock steady and I have no fear of the car falling. Ramps or a lift would be much more simple, but I'm OK with this method. As you have no doubt seen, the Viper frame is very stiff. When you lift it at one place, half the car is lifted. I'd be very surprised for an expert to tell me this isn't safe! Good luck.:2tu:

almost the entire frame, the front "horns" (the part of the frame that extends beyond the box portion - there is probably a better way to explain this, but it escapes me - once under the car, you will understand) have been known to bend if used as jack / stand points

okloneranger is right about the frame being strong and stiff that if you start jacking one side, the whole side will lift,
